15 Favourite Blogs That Inspire Me

And, Why I still LOVE to read blogs….

I have been blogging since Feb 2004 and have been inspired by many fellow bloggers. I read most of the blogs via Goggle Reader anymore, but there are still those that I click through and read – even comment sometimes. LOL!

In no particular order, here is my list:

1. Sharyn Tormanen at Live From Tormville.

I have been following Sharyn for over 7 years and to me, she’s like family. I LOVE hearing their family adventures, her crafty projects and lately her hot air balloon escapades.  I feel like if we met in person, we’d be like we’ve known each other forever.

2. Alisa Burke

I first came across Alisa Burke in Cloth Paper Scissors magazine, and have been following her blog ever since.  I LOVE seeing where she draws her inspiration from and my favourite posts are her “From My Sketchbook” posts.

3. Gerrie Congdon

Gerrie is a fellow Art Quilter and I’ve been following her blog since 2001. I enjoy every post she posts, some are from her travels, from her studio, her latest grand-daughter, etc.

4. Christine Kane

I have been reading Christine’s blog for about 5 years, and YES, this spring I finally took her Uplevel You program.  Always excellent blog posts, not just on business but LIFE as a whole.

5. Lisa Call

Lisa is an Art Quilter also – her Textile Paintings are amazing and colourful.  I have been following her since 2001 also. Her structured studio time & organization inspires me!

6. Kal Barteski

I have been following Kal for over 6 years ( I believe she was pregnant with her first daughter) and I’m not sure exactly how I come to find her, but I am so glad I did.  Kal inspires me everyday with her steady Art practise.  I enjoy watching her 3 girls grow and the antics they get into…LOL!  Kal will be my guest speaker at my first Positively Creative Retreat in April 2013.

7. Jamie Ridler of Jamie Ridler Studios

I have been following Jamie’s blog for over 3 years and faithfully listen to all her Creative Living Podcasts every week.

8. Claudine Hellmuth

I have been following Claudine since her first book – Collage Discover Workshop came out in 2003.  Claudine introduced me to Twitter, she would post on there whenever she travelled inside of her blog, so I had to join…LOL!

9. Traci Bunkers

I have been following Traci’s blog for years, I believe someone posted her stamp sets on a Yahoo group and I was hooked. I am inspired by her journal pages, her books, mixed media artwork and more.  I was heartbroken when she lost her kitties as I felt like they were part of my life also via her blog and other online posts.

10. Connie Hozvicka of Dirty Footprints Studio

I first heard of Connie, listening to her on one of Jamie Ridler’s Creative Living podcasts.  I am inspired by her artwork, life and her teaching.  I am so enjoying her latest series of charcoal drawings of her newborn son.

11. Violette Clark of Violette’s Creative Juice

I first became aware of Violette when she had an article in Cloth Paper Scissors in 2006, and been following ever since. I LOVE her happy colourful artwork! She inspires me everyday to make art no matter what. I always enjoy seeing what comes next on her blog.

12. Sandi Krakowski of A Real Change

If you are online at all, you will see Sandi – she’s everywhere and that’s because she is totally into the Social Media aspect of business.  I took her WordPress course and have not looked back since.  She is always up on the latest Social Media business news, and shares so much.

13. Fabienne Fredrickson of Client Attraction

I first noticed Fabienne a few years ago, got her free CD but didn’t actually listen to it until this spring. (knock my head against the wall over that one).  I have been reading her blog faithfully since January, I enjoy her style of doing business online and enjoy all the information she gives so freely.

14. Marie Forleo

I don’t recall how I first came across Marie, but I am so glad I did.  I thoroughly enjoy her blog posts, videos and her awesome enthusiasm.

and last but certainly not least

15. Danielle Laporte

I first heard of Danielle on Jamie Ridler’s Creative Living podcast and have been following her blog ever since.  Danielle is so inspiring not just on life but business as well.

So, you can see – [tweetherder]For me blogging is not dead[/tweetherder].  YES, I enjoy all of these people’s updates on Facebook and Twitter, etc. but I thoroughly enjoy reading their blog posts.

  4. What a neat idea Dale to share all your favourite blogs that have inspired you. You are a very dedicated follower/blog reader. I also follow Sandi Krakowski, Danielle LaPorte & Maria Forleo. I’d love to take a course with Sandi one day. Now I’m thinking I need the WordPress one because it’s a great frustration trying to figure it all out on my own.
