Ok – I think I am finally back to normal (whatever that is!) after a FABULOUS weekend with friends!
The 3 of them arrived within an hour of each other, so we had a late supper then hung out on the front porch Friday evening until the mosquitoes got to be too much for all of us.
Saturday, we had a leisurely morning with DH cooking us breakfast and then we walked over to the gallery at the Morse Museum for them to see DOUBLE VISION.
We left for Moose Jaw about 1:30, stopped in Mortlach for a bathroom break…….got to see Sandy’s mural at the Tea House there – its FABULOUS!!! We’ll have to stop for longer than a few minutes next time and check out her Little Art Gallery.
We arrived at our hotel in Moose Jaw – the room was NOT ready yet, so we had a drink on them! YES – I had a drink!!! LOL
We had time to kill so went to The Quilt Patch
(I wanted a couple Fat Quarters of Mark’s
new line of fabric) and while there, Mark walked in, I could hear his voice, so I rounded the corner and…………it was seeing a long time friend, I didn’t have to introduce myself. We’ve known each other online for 9 years and this was our first time meeting in person. He’s exactly like his emails!!! LOVE HIM!!!
He scared the crap out of Rose Anne, when we decided to take him to WalMart so he could get a new camera and a carry on bag…….we shook up the Moose Jaw WalMart that is for sure!!!
We got him back to the hotel, we decided to try the Lounge at Temple Gardens as it was too early to get into the room where his Trunk Show was. We should have just stayed there because when we came back in 20 minutes, there was a long line. We got a fairly good seat, they had a mike on him so he was easy to hear.
The dinner was FABULOUS – we then realized we hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast……
Now, Mark’s Trunk Show was EXTRA FABULOUS!!! I have never laughed so much in all my life, my ribs and cheekbones still hurt on Monday. If any of you who get the chance to see his Trunk Show, don’t pass it up!!! YES – its Xrated but GET A LIFE!!! It was the BESTEST $40 I’ve even spent!!! And, 2.5 hours of him talking – making us laugh was pretty hard on my bladder I tell ya! It took all nite for the pain to subside!!!
I found out my Katmandu quilt is in New Zealand….lucky thing!!!
We took in the Outdoor Quilt Show Sunday morning…….they had 240 quilts hanging. It was BEAUTIFUL seeing the quilts move in the slight breeze. I took a movie with my camera but I still have to edit my yapping with some of the people out of it, before I post here………you have to be patience.
I didn’t take any pictures of Mark – my friends did and will be sending me theirs.
We wished we could have kidnapped him but he had a 3pm flight to Edmonton as he was teaching and doing his trunk show in Sherwood Park.
