6 Year Blog Anniversary…..

by Dale Anne Potter

Today is the official 6th anniversary of this blog.  I started blogging back in 2004, as a way to let friends and family know what was going on in my life……instead of sending individual emails.

THANK YOU to everyone who has stopped by and to those who are regular readers.

THANK YOU to those who do comment and/or send private emails about my blog posts.

We have been through alot over the 6 years – a move, nearly losing DH and recently losing my left kidney……its been quite a ride!

Sometimes I wonder what people would like to read about….

Some people don’t want personal stuff, some people want tutorials (sometimes I do this – I teach workshops so don’t want to give away all my secrets!), some people want to only see artwork…..

In my Strategic Plan #1 – purging, becoming clean and simple, I found lots of FABULOUS goodies for a giveaway here……so I’d LOVE to hear what YOU want to see more of or less of.  I will make a draw for the winner of these goodies on Friday March 5th.

Having met you and DH I can see that all the things you talk about on your blog are part of who you are.
Well Done.
Keep On; Keepin On.

Love to come and check out what you’re up to…
My favorite so far is the drawing and the “Trash” in the gallery….
My grand daughter thought it was really cool! We made bags last summer with fused trash bags… it was wicked fun!

Hey! I love your blog. I like to hear what you are doing day by day and how a fellow Canadian is faring in Saskatchewan! Sometimes when I feel a little isolated from the creative world I open up a few of my favorite books and see works in them done by you! It’s inspiring and keeps me going. Our personal lives are us, as artists, and to block them out would be denying a part of us. Congratulations on the six years, and I look forward to sixty more!

Dear Dale Ann:

I love all your posts on FB and think you should leave everything on your blog just the way it is. It is your blog and your true spirit comes through! I don’t care if I win your giveaway.

Dale Anne, I’m new to your blog, but look forward to reading it regularly, If you’re half as inspiring as you have been in the past two weeks with your “go team” attitude, I’m sure that I’ll soon be back doing something creative. My muse deserted me sometime ago. I love your encouragement. Louise

I personally like when you have a mix of things on your blog. Just like I believe I find. Congrats on 6 years. I probably had not yet heard of blogs at that time either.
AND I agree with Rose Anne about the positive things as well as the idea of wishing I could see you in person more often.
Angels be with you Dale. Wishing you many more creative days and blog posts.

I’m really a fabric/fiber/thread person and don’t really do very much painting so I guess your fiber adventures are the ones I pay the most attention to. For example, the pattern for the journal covers. Yes, you painted the fabrics but i was interested in the quilting and actual assembling. Wish QA would spend more time on thread but they have a huge audience. Thanks for asking….
Have you seen my blog? I really love encouraging people to look inside themselves for inspiration and their gifts. Thanks,

Congrats on the anniversary!
I’m just getting into doing postcards, so more info on embellishing would be great for me!
Thanks for the chance in your give-away!

I enjoy your blogs very much. You have some great ideas and it is always fun to see life through someone elses eyes. Congratulations on 6 years.

Ohhhh YES Joyce is right! You definitely forgot the bright side of events this past year or so (they were major too) along with your showings of your fibre art creations!!! Hmmm there’s probably lots more too but try to summarize eh!

As for what to leave out or add in, well all I can say is the personal touches are great and the artistic parts I think are covered very well with your new Website and blogging that you’ve been improving on as time goes on. I just LOVE seeing your home front images during the seasons and hearing the family ups and downs too. So I’m not sure what I’d like to see except to be able to visit with you personally more often!!!

:) )) Hugs, keep it going girl!

Dale Anne,
Congrats on your 6th year of blogging! You forgot MAKEOVER – surely one of the great moments of the last 6 years.

It is good to purge the “collection” every once in a while. I did alot of it when I moved from Boston to TN 16 years ago. Now I’m doing it again and hope to be more profitable in the process.

I have only one thing to say about your giveaway — Pick Me!!

congrats! Joyce
