First, here is a photo of my Erosion Bundle on the 15th day….see some of the silver foil sticking out – a bird might be trying to get at that.
The snow that was laying on top was either blown off or melted inside.
Below are photos of my FINISHED sketchbook cover! The hand stitching & beading was done between other projects, so took longer than I thought. I made some mistakes on this whole thing that if I do another, I will change some things, but overall I am happy with it.
The sketchbook is held close with the variagated ribbon (I’m sure it has an official name for what kind it is but I don’t know) from my stash of bits & pieces.
I used crochet cotton – a turquoise wool to stitch the signatures inside the book, knotted the ends but added a couple of large yellow beads that were in a thrift shop find a couple years ago.
I used variagated Presencia Threads embroidery floss for the hand stitching – tried a bunch of different stitches.
Inside, the fabric is a glue resist piece of fabric I dyed many years ago….I had already quilted it & didn’t like that but decided to use the sandwich as the inside so the whole cover had more weight to it. I had practised some writing with my sewing machine last week – well, here is the whole quote on the left inside of the cover. “Dreams are just thoughts you didn’t have time to think about during the day!….unknown”
The paper inside is unknown to me what kind – its a pile I found in a box that I had for years with all kinds of odd kinds of papers. Because I am going to use this as only a sketchbook, not a journal I don’t have to worry about it holding its weight while watercolouring or something like that.

Forgot to mention the pages inside are 8.5 X 11 inches, so the finished size of the sketchbook cover is 6 X 8.5 inches.
Overall – I LOVE MY SKETCHBOOK!

I love your book cover. Isn’t it great when a planned project exceeds our expectations? Your colors are wonderful as are your quilting and bead work. I think the free motion words inside the covers are a fabulous addition. Those are my colors too. I hope you enjoy it and enter all kinds of creative ideas in it.

Absolutely exquisite. And some of my favorite colors. I love the pebbly quilting and the hand stitching adjacent to it.
