Gorgeous DAY!!!

by Dale Anne Potter

plumtree29may2009This is one of our Plum trees….its loaded with blossoms.  I heard bees yesterday, so will be interesting to see how many actual plums we’ll end up with….in a few weeks, I’ll be putting the sheers on all the fruit trees before the birds start eating the fruit – I have fruit trees for us to eat not the birds!

Supposed to be over 30 deg C today but with high winds….

Yesterday, I posted on Twitter/Facebook and on the Quiltart group this question:

Is a house really a home?

I’m going to work on a series about Homes/Houses and I questioned myself on the home part.  To me, a house is not automatically a home!
Your thoughts………

I think a home is where your heart is. Your home can be anywhere. You can have many homes. It is where you want to be at any given time. Home is where you find love, contentment, comfort, etc.

A house is a place – the building – sticks, stones, bricks, wood, etc.

Your house and your home may be the same place.

Dale,

Agree a house is not necessarily a home. The house is the physical structure. The home involves the loving relationships in the house. So it follows that should someone have loving relationships it is possible that a cardboard box could be a home. I expect that the developing world could teach us a lot about homes.

Looking forward to your work!

Have a wonderful day!
