ApplesAug52009

To some, its not a nice summer – I LOVE cooler temps., so LOVE it!  Rain today – smells so nice.

Thought I’d show you progress on our apple tree – its a Norland Apple tree.

So far, only one apple has been bitten by the birds.  If we see more, we’ll add the sheer curtain over the whole tree….

The apples are about 2 inches in diameter now.

The crabapple tree, which the birds don’t like, is so loaded and the young branches are drooping.  We propped them up again on Wed.

We have some plums on one of the plum trees – the other plum tree was hit with the heavy winds in the spring & lost all its blossoms before they were pollinated.  We have ONE pear that is actually showing a pear shape now.  Pear trees supposedly take longer to bear fruit so we were tickled to get blossoms on one of them this spring.  It, too, was hit with the winds.

I caught a photo of one of the dandelions that DH had missed in the garden – too bad all those seeds are such a pain in the butt.Dandelion

I am working away on new pieces and soon – I promise I’ll get things photographed.  I have to set up lights, move things in my studio so I can get good photographs, so I wait until I have a pile….which I do.

How has your summer been going?  Did you take the time off from working in YOUR studio or do you work year round like me?
