“A Workshop with Velda Newman, Adding Dimension to Your Quilts” is published by C & T Publishing and has been on my want list since it first was announced in 2009. I have been a fan of Velda‘s work since I started connecting with Art Quilters.

This book takes you through 6 different projects with each having a different technique. Each technique/project challenges YOU to add more depth & texture and that is exactly what I have been looking for.

I LOVE the technique she did using cheesecloth….I will be using that one for sure.

I wanted to try the leaves first thing and I am happy with my first attempt at the tuck sewing, Velda shows us. When I did the first flip through the book, I already had so many ideas and then, when I sat down to read from start to finish – even more ideas and uses for the art supplies I have been treasuring.

Leaves, Newman Style - Dale Anne Potter

Velda’s instructions are very in depth and the GORGEOUS colour photos are so inspiring.

If YOU have been wanting to add MORE to your Art Quilts, then this is a book for you.

THANK YOU Velda for sharing your ART & techniques!!!

Week 44 of 52 Questions prompts us: Home. there is lots you can do with this theme – past or previous home, dream home, How you make it home, Why it is home, etc.

For this card, I used a scrap of scrapbook paper for the background, added black pen on the stitch-looking lines, around the flower and for the 44 plus journaling.

The printed photo is of the bungalow that is in my future. I had the printed tag in a little pile waiting to be used.

Simple card for a busy week.

Spent a couple hours on Saturday, getting all the candy packages ready for Halloween treaters tonight. Nothing fancy, just brown lunch bags and because our tape dispenser has disappeared, I used duct tape to hold them closed. I make 50 of them, as we never know how many will show up from year to year. Its hubby job to pass them out…..LOL!

Have an AWESOME day!!!

To Do List for the week:

Week 3 of Beginner Quilting workshop in Swift Current

Lesson 12 of Positive Thinking e-workshop

Finalizing one project for an upcoming online workshop, photograph sample

Videos & pdf for the upcoming STITCHED workshop

Fabric bookmarks for a customer
