I was unable to do a video on the actual 100th day of my Season 2 – 100 Day Challenge (no voice)….I thought I would recap (so I have it written down) here for those of you have been following along.

Autumn Tree #3 - Dale Anne Potter

I was able to see/hear Johnny Reid sing my FAVOURITE song LIVE!!! in July.

In August, I was able to see/hear K.D. Lang sing HALLELUJAH LIVE!!!

In September, I was part of the BESTEST ever Studio Tour – Highway 1 Studio Tour.

In the 100 days, I revamped my website and was honoured to be able to Affiliate with many GREAT websites.

In this 100 days, I was asked to be part of the AMAZING Artistically Speaking Blog Talk Radio show.

I won several blog giveaways, Ustream giveaways and a Scrapbooking Company’s 15th anniversary contest (where I submitted a project, that was a first for me).

I was asked to be part of some BIG things – one announcement is coming October 24th and another in November.

I feel like I am missing some things also, but it has been an AWESOME 100 days and feeling the LOVE of how Law of Attraction works.

Being POSITIVE and in my HAPPY place, is working and rubbing off on people.  I wish the BESTEST of everything to everyone!!!

I did several different pieces for the Highway 1 Studio Tour (Check out the winner of the gift basket – she’s holding my piece from the basket) and have these 4 left in this size – 4 X 4 inches.

An idea came to me in the middle of the night, (its usually when my BESTEST ideas come to me), to work on different backgrounds but still do the trees.  I LOVE MY TREES!

I like to challenge myself to use up all kinds of scraps I have leftover from other pieces, especially the hand-dyed or painted pieces that are overflowing a basket right now.

I think because my favourite season is right now – AUTUMN, my FAVOURITE trees are naked trees.  I LOVE seeing on the prairie landscape old tired trees who are just showcasing their grandeur but no longer alive.  Like this one below that I made my sister stop on the highway between Lethbridge & Medicine Hat last fall for – I HAD to get that shot.  If I had had rubber boots that day, I would have walked into the pasture & gotten even closer.  Hoping that next time I travel that way, I will have a zoom lens for a closer shot.

Old Tree - Dale Anne Potter

My idea for this Tree Series is to make 100.  No two will be the same as I hand draw the tree every time and the tree tells me how it wants to be on the fabric. Each fabric piece will have machine and/or hand quilting on it, be satin stitched on the edge and then glued to the 4 X 4 X 1/2 inch canvas that has been painted black.  The back is signed by me – Dale Anne Potter and titled.

I am presently working on some bookmarks for a customer, and then LET THE SERIES begin.

I have also sketched out some NEW bigger pieces and will be painting and/or hand-dyeing some fabric for them once I get my studio back into a manageable state.  The new sketches are not trees but ideas that have been swimming around in my head for awhile.

What an AWESOME STUDIO TOUR!!!

2011 Studio Tour table

GREAT to see people from other years and lots of new people so it was FABULOUS!  Sales were GREAT and connections for workshops, etc. I am very HAPPY!!!

Sold out of a few things, but over the next week or so I will be uploading items into my Etsy and website Artwork sites.

I have a couple commissions to make – they were kind enough to give me time after the tour to get my energy back.

I walk past my studio door, look in & shake my head as the last week I was tossing things around like crazy.  So, must get into there today and get busy sorting & returning things to their rightful places.

Lots of discussion that I should promote myself more, lots of thoughts by me, that I’m at my own pace & am enjoying the ride.  I am thinking that if I was going any faster & bigger that I’m not sure I’d LOVE it as much as I do.  I like the pace I’m at & can add the “Life Happens” whenever it needs to be added as I have an elder husband & mother that take some time.  I certainly think I am BUSY enough already!

I do have some goals and they will slowly come into fruition.

I am taking this week slow, so no Tutorial video but will be back next week along with new & EXCITING stuff.
