Today, I wanted to change it up a bit here on my blog….

I will tell you a little about one of my dreams!!!

Some of you may have seen THIS video I did on my Season 1 of the 100 Day Challenge.  If you listen, you will hear me talk about what I’d LOVE to see happen to this school.

I have a binder full of plans for this OPEN SKY ART CENTRE INC.  (yes, already registered) and I can see Morse, Saskatchewan being put on the ART MAP for having this FABULOUS centre available to everyone but also including international students who would come for a week, or two to take workshops from the top teachers.

There would be teacher cabins, a community garden (where the community could plant their gardens for free with the agreement that the centre would also be able to use some of the produce), there would be a Labyrinth to walk through & sit in the centre for meditation or conversation, there would be fruit trees and walking trails.  There would be dorm rooms in the west wing, a commercial kitchen and gallery along with the studios for the different art mediums.

Morse is 2 hours traveling time from the International airport in Regina and transportation would be available to anyone needing it.

The local schools would be able to come for tours to see the artists in residence (the teachers) one time each session.  There would be summer art workshops for the children of SW Saskatchewan and the local drama clubs would have a facility to practise & put on their plays or musicals.

The commercial kitchen would feed the artists in residence and the students, and also be available for catering of functions.

Each studio would have all the supplies needed for each of the artist in residence and students.  The gallery would have art supplies for sale for the students if needed.  The sessions would be Spring, Summer and Fall – there would be weekend, week long and 2 week workshops.

It is just a dream or could this be a reality?  We will see…..I see it in my mind!

Today – marks the countdown to the 2010 Winter Olympics taking place in the Vancouver, BC area.

Tonite at 6 pm in every time zone across Canada, we are asked to start the noise….car horns, bells, whistles, etc.  WAHOOOO!!!

Today, they unveiled the torch and torchbearer’s outfit…..I was interested in that because I signed up to be one of the 12,000 torch bearers (I’ll find out in June if I am picked).  That’s a big torch to run with for 300 meters!!!

The torch will be in our town, run thru our streets, then for a rest stop at the school for a half hour or less (depends on the schedule for the day, this is an adjustment time)!!!  We are getting excited.  It will like a mini Olympic Village for the day of January 10, 2010……..

In yesterday’s snow storm, I started thinking about what this town NEEDS!  I belong to the local Economic Development Assn, and am also part of the working group for the new Entrepise Region for SW SK.  So, lots of Economic development ideas stirring in my head since I couldn’t go to the meeting in Moose Jaw yesterday.

There are some empty houses and other buildings in our town, empty lots to fill with new buildings or move in buildings…..and I’ve been thinking of the Artist Relocation Program that Paducah, Kentucky has had going for awhile.

So, today on Twitter & Facebook, I asked the question:

If you as an artist were thinking of moving to a town where other artists live, what would be a GREAT incentive?
