This card is many layers….

I sanded the card, to lighten the numbers and then I wrote thoughts all over it. I coloured over the writing with Watercolor Wonder Crayons from Stampin’ Up – several purples. I used a wet paint brush to spread the colour. Once dry, I added a thin coat of Gesso and while still wet, I used an old gift card to make the marks in every which way. Let it dry overnight, then I added the felt lace which was in a package of goodies I received along with K. Grace Howes’ Zine (on Etsy HERE ). I decided to use the small tag I found in the bottom of the pizza box (of all my odds and ends).

I am liking the marks!!!

Just realized I didn’t add the # for the week…..I’ll have to add that!

I enjoyed a short visit with my sister, while she was visiting Mom.

This is the card I made for Mom.

All kinds of leftover bits on this one. The card base is covered with paper from a pack I bought off of Etsy 3 years ago. The green die cut paper from an old Stampin’ Up! 6 X6 pack matched perfectly. The beige ribbon was a piece from my ribbon bag – not sure if its a Stampin’ Up! product or from somewhere else. The leaves for the fabric flower were from a bag of goodies from the thrift store. The sentiment was a printed digital from Fresh Linen, that I printed to fit into my 1 1/4 inch circle punch. The lilac tag was laying in the bottom of the pizza box waiting to be used. The flower was made from a leftover fabric strip….a tutorial to make one of your own is HERE. I didn’t leave raggy edges on this one, I have on others & they look FABULOUS!!!

What gives me hope?

I used alot of leftover bits on this one. A piece of gold Lumiere painted diaper liner (the one that doesn’t melt! & I have lots of it to use up) is the bottom layer. The blue Lumiere painted mystery fabric was laid on top, then both were sewn along with a piece of interfacing on the back. I used a fancy stitch on my Janome 6500. The curved part of the blue painted fabric was also stitched with a fancy stitch (a different one). The note paper sticker was leftover from an old Stampin’ Up! scrapping kit. The “19″ was cut from an old bingo card. The rose was cut from a card we received in the mail.
