Trash to Treasure today is all about Using old plastic CD sleeves.
There were 3 sets of sleeves, each page could hold 4 CDs as there is a pocket on each side. 12 pages or 12 photos.
I needed a thicker than cardstock cover, so went to my cardboard drawer, where I found this perfectly coloured Fiskars cardboard from my new cutter. (I knew it would come in handy sometime!). I cut the cover to 5 X 5.5 inches, then scored in 1/2 inch for the binding.
I decided to leave the shiny orange side of the Fiskars cardboard as the inside and for the outside, I sanded the shininess off (glue adheres better if the shininess is sanded off!) and picked out some Bo Bunny scrapbook paper that worked for the cover.
I had the “Thankful” tag in my tags tote for years, I had printed it off back in 2002 or something like that. I glued it to cardstock so it wasn’t just paper. The white doily was getting pretty beat up in the embellishment tote, so I added it behind the recycled silk flowers (from the thrift store), added a crochet flower that my friend Wendy had sent with a red brad in the centre.
I stamped a few pages with leaves, added silk leaves, added some already stamped leaf tags (from friend Sharon), a leftover stamped border that happened to have a Autumn theme, and torn a leaf or two from coloured cardstock scraps.
I intend to have this out at Thanksgiving (here in Canada, its October 14th) and add photos of our Thanksgiving together.
