Writing Process

This blog post is part of the My Writing Process Blog Tour.

I am EXCITED to be participating in this blog tour so that YOU can get to know me a little better.  I have been blogged since Feb. 2004 and  this blog has changed or transformed over the years. Plus, I know that some of you are new to my blog.  I like to post all things Creative with an accent of Spreading Positive Creativity (my message to the world).  I like to show my process, with tutorials here in written form, or on a video and I teach all my workshops online within my Positively Creative Community.HaikuJournalSpread

I, first, want to THANK YOU, for stopping by and I’d LOVE to hear how you arrived here and any other comments you may have.

I was passed the torch by one of my peeps – Jen Blumenthal within the UpLevel Your Business community and you can read her story here. And now for my story…

What am I working on?

I am working on two big projects, alternating as the days of the week go on. First, and foremost, my book: My Creative Road Map, a Path to True Happiness. I am trying to finalize every chapter, then go to some proof readers I have lined up and then publish.

The other project, is an online program about Find Your Passion & Purpose (not the name it will be called, but that’s the subject) – hoping for a mid-June launch.

How does my work differ from others of its genre?

I have had many different life experiences and am here to tell the story of turning into a more POSITIVE person and if people see how I feel and see the Abundance that comes from that practise, it might give them something for themselves. I use Journaling as the basis for most of my workshops & programs as I feel the art of writing releases everything holding us back, and then in the process NEW and more POSITIVE can come into your life. Journaling may not be for everyone, until they have tried it and feel the release, they don’t know.

Why do I write what I do?

Why do I write what I do…..well, its my life and how I live! I practise what I preach and in the process, people have come to see how my life has changed and hopefully, if they follow some of the practises, theirs can also.  I write real stuff, things that happen in my life – the stumbling blocks I have come across and how I get away from them or around them. I LIVE my workshops & programs! Simple as that!! Since becoming fully aware of all the possibilities of Law of Attraction, I LIVE them.

How does my writing process work?

My Daily practise is 3 long hand written Morning Pages, this releases anything that may have churned in my head overnight and this also, brings me fully present into TODAY, so I know my intention for the day and what needs to be accomplished today. I am grateful to have my studio right across the hall from where I write my Morning Pages, so that progression to my Art Journal is a short commute. I like to set the intention for the day with my Art Journal spread that I create as it confirms it and allows me to feel it by creating the journal spread. Its not just an Art page, there is usually private journaling on the page as well – sometimes, its giving myself a kick in the butt or sometimes its feeling the gratitude of being here (I am a cancer warrior of 15 years) and doing what I LOVE to do everyday!  I feel that practise of journaling has become a part of me and has allowed me to grow into being who I am today – Artist, Teacher, Coach, Speaker.

And now, ladies & gentlemen, I would like to pass the torch on to one of my blogging buddies. Please let me introduce her!

Suzanne McRae, is a writer and she shares passionately about her spiritual, healing and creative journey through life. She’s a stay-at-home mom and caregiver for their young adult son who has autism. After his diagnosis she went seeking answers and found herself in a place where she realized had little to do with him. This brought her on a spiritual journey of discoveries, personal growth and transformation. Suzanne is a Karuna Reiki Master and most recently is finding her way to Shamanism. You can also find her painting, gardening and enjoying photography in her spare time.

  2. Dale, I absolutely love the joy and positivity you spread out into our world. There’s so much about you that I truly admire and enjoy. Your creativity, especially your beautiful quilting projects which I adore; your smile and positive words, but also your sharing of what you have learned in your own life and then turning around and finding ways of offering those gifts to us in return. What a blessing!!

PS Thank your for this opportunity. I look forward to sharing on the Writing Process Blog Tour next. :)
